Calamus powder is made from the root of Acorus calamus, a plant widely used in ayurvedic medicine among other ingredients for its antioxidant and diuretic properties. It is also said to have mind enhancing effects and has been used in meditation practice in India for centuries.
Something loose and comfortable, cotton pants and shorts are good, a comfortable t-shirt works well. It is also good to bring a pair of socks and something warm if the weather is cold.
To give the massage and receive massage, you will need comfortable clothes such as cotton trousers, t-shirts, shorts, etc. Yoga clothes are ok, although they may feel a bit tight and get oily.
To receive the treatment, you need to wear underwear, stretchable underwear for men is better. Optional for female: a top tube or a large scarf or sarong to wrap your body easily and quickly in between sequences.
Depending the venue, we are providing all or part of the necessary materials. We email all participants to let them know what to bring for the course.
We always provide mattresses, bedsheets, booklet, oil, essential oils, herbal powder, face cream; bring your own facial cream, body oil, and personal Bedsheets and towels, if you have any special preferences. In some location we are asking you to bring your own bedsheets.

Yes, you can join the modules of your training wherever the ARYM Institute teach. For example: your Practitioner Therapist (I-IV) in Paris and your Practitioner Diploma (V) in London or India, etc.
However, participants are advised to register for the Practitioner Certificate (I-IV) at the same location and in a row. It is easier to learn in the continuity of the same group, because the classes follow naturally in the same setting, where students become more attentive, caring and confident. It is a collective friendly experience of giving and receiving. Feedback is essential and allows participants to gain the personal confidence necessary to practice a complete care.
Yes, on the last day or 2 days of the trainings there is(are) the Clinic Day(s), depending on the amount of students it can take one or two days. So you will be assessed by giving a 90 minute massage to an outside volunteer (not a fellow student).
The trainings are truly hands-on, enabling one to give a 50-90 minute Ayurvedic Yoga Massage by the end of Level 1-4 Certified Therapist.
With Level 5, you will learn how to practice even more stretches, with the confidence that comes with revising and further integrating material already learned.
With Level 6, you will learn how to teach the ARYM method to other students.
And the Masterclasses will deepen your knowledge on specific topics, techniques (examples…)

After a reasonable amount of practice, an AYM Diploma Therapist I-V can enroll into the Instructor program (I-VI)
The ARYM instructor diploma is done on 3 stages:
During the AYM ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR (I-IV), a student assists Ananta on a complete Therapist training. After 1 or several period of assisting, A student will receive from Ananta the Authorized Instructor Certificate, so he can start to teach.
The AYM CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR (V) is composed of 3 modules of 5 or 6 days each (part 1, 2 and 3). These can be taken separately and in any order. The Instructor Certificate enables the student to progressively facilitate the 4 main phases of the ARYM program.
The AYM DIPLOMA INSTRUCTOR (VI) is a post-internship personal work that validates the Diploma.

After the completion of the Therapist Diploma (V), one can strengthen his practice and deepen his understanding by joining: The Professionalization Days (days of practice of the full massage);
The Drop-in classes (any day of your choice during the practitioner training);
The 10 Modules of the Masterclass (each are one-day workshops on a specific topic);
The Instructor training after a substantial practice (500 massages minimum), Including an apprenticeship asssisting Ananta on 3 therapist training courses.

However, a regular practice as massage giver, facing many different patient conditions, is the best learning.
Yes, after completing the Level 4 Certified Therapist Training you will be able to work with the AYM technique taking clients for 50 to 90-minute individual sessions.
Usually, depending to one’s ability, right after the course one should practice giving some sessions to family/friends or with other students to get into the flow of the treatment and receive plenty of feedback. After 5 to 20 practice sessions after the course, you will feel ready to take clients.
It is highly recommended to join the L.5 Therapist Diploma to get more guided practice, deepen the techniques and reinforce the material learnt during L.1-4 training course, as it is a vast amount of work and a dense program.
You will get a course booklet, covering the complete sequences, text descriptions and range of techniques with images and space to annotate the procedures. Oil, powder, mattresses, longis, etc. will be provided for the duration of the course.
No, the only prerequisite before joining level one is genuine interest. Although a background in yoga will help to understand faster the positioning and different stretches.
No, our training is accessible to everyone, including beginners and professionals of all levels.
No prior experience of massage, neither of yoga is needed. Our courses allow participants to discover and easily learn the method of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage. Students will gain self-confidence by learning the skills that are necessary to integrate the flow of massage with the stretching series. At the end of the training course, trainees will have the ability to provide and demonstrate a complete Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatment and will receive a Certificate or Diploma.

The only difference between these trainings is the number of hours training per day (so it’s more intense for the 8-day training with more hours per day), but the teaching program is the same. However, more days bring more rehearsals which is beneficial.

We don’t offer accommodation but depending on the venue, we can help you find a room.
