ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Inspired by the Indian traditions of Ayurveda and modern yoga, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) combines deep tissue massage with oil and assisted yoga-based stretching elements in a single session. Indian master Kusum Modak, influenced by her practice with BKS Iyengar, developed the AYM method in the early 1980s. This contemporary all-in-one yoga bodywork, supported by breathwork, differs significantly from other traditional massage treatments of Ayurveda, drawing from the numerous benefits of yogasana therapy.

ARYM’s training programme provides a proven approach to mastering Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, with classes comprising 90% hands-on experience. Participants practice daily on each other, both giving and receiving massages. The training provides powerful massage and stretching techniques focusing on energy flow, conscious breathing, touch awareness, meditative approach, and body mechanics, to ensure a comfortable and pleasant experience. By the end of the course, participants can deliver confidently great treatments customised to individual needs.
During the course, you will learn to:

Provide a 60 to 90-minute AYM treatment.

Apply a wide range of massage techniques using your hands and feet, including deep tissue, stress relief, myofascial release, and relaxing massages, and perform an exceptional facial massage experience.

Perform over a hundred yoga-based assisted corrective stretches.

Be ready to start your AYM therapist career immediately upon course completion or give it to your loved ones.

The first part (4 days) focuses more on the entire body massage, learning deep tissue massage techniques using hands and feet. It also provides a first series of assisted stretching and enables the performance of a short Ayurvedic yoga massage sequence to massage, mobilise, and stretch the full body.
The second part (4 days) focuses on integrating the massage and a large series of assisted stretches, acquiring a flow while gaining confidence.
**It is highly advisable to join both parts in a row, but one can also complete the second part during another training session.

Do I need previous experience to join this Ayurvedic Yoga Massage training in Paris?

No previous experience is required to join this Ayurvedic Yoga Massage training in Paris. The course is designed to guide participants step by step, while also offering valuable refinement for massage therapists, yoga teachers, bodyworkers, and other experienced practitioners.

Is certification included?

Yes. Certification is granted upon successful completion of the relevant training level. Depending on whether this is your first, second, or a further participation, this course may lead to certification for Levels 1–4, Level 5, or even Level 7 Instructor.

Can I join only part of the Ayurvedic Yoga Massage training in Paris?

Yes. If you cannot attend the full training in one go, you may begin with Part 1 and complete Part 2 later during another training session at any location worldwide. However, it is strongly recommended to complete both parts in close succession for better continuity and integration.

How long will it take before I am able to give professional treatments?

By the end of the training, participants are able to give a structured Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatment and begin practising what they have learned. As with any hands-on discipline, confidence, precision, and professional quality continue to deepen with regular practice after the course. In many cases, around 5 to 20 post-training sessions are needed to gain greater ease, fluidity, and confidence, and considerably more are usually needed to truly master the work.

How long does it take to become a professional Ayurvedic Yoga Massage practitioner?

You can begin offering professional Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatments relatively soon after the course and start earning from this work. For many participants, the first full training already provides a solid foundation to begin practising professionally. At the same time, true professionalism is developed over time through regular practice, continued learning, and real commitment. In that sense, becoming a deeply confident and refined practitioner is a longer journey and, honestly, a life commitment.

How many training courses should I join to become a professional?

The first full therapist training gives you the essential foundation to begin practising Ayurvedic Yoga Massage professionally. Many students choose to continue with additional levels in order to refine their technique, improve fluidity, deepen their understanding, and strengthen their confidence. The number of courses needed depends on your previous experience, your level of commitment, and the standard of practice or teaching you wish to embody. Regular participation in refresher courses with Ananta is highly valuable for maintaining the purity, precision, and depth of the work. In general, around 200+ hours of training can give you a strong level of expertise in AYM.
