Inspired by the Indian traditions of Ayurveda and modern yoga, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) combines deep tissue massage with oil and assisted yoga-based stretching elements in a single session. Indian master Kusum Modak, influenced by her practice with BKS Iyengar, developed the AYM method in the early 1980s. This contemporary all-in-one yoga bodywork, supported by breathwork, differs significantly from other traditional massage treatments of Ayurveda, drawing from the numerous benefits of yogasana therapy.
ARYM’s comprehensive training programme provides a skilful and proven way to learn Ayurvedic Yoga Massage. The classes are practical, with 90% hands-on experience. Learning the techniques involves an immersive massage experience. Students learn massage techniques by participating daily as both the person giving the massage and the one receiving it. During the course, you will learn to:
Provide a 60 to 90-minute AYM treatment following the ARYM protocol tailored to individual needs.
Apply a wide range of massage techniques using your hands and feet, including deep tissue, stress relief, myofascial release, and relaxing massages, and perform an exceptional facial massage experience.
Perform over a hundred yoga-based assisted corrective stretches.
Be ready to start your AYM therapist career immediately upon course completion.
