ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Inspired by the Indian traditions of Ayurveda and modern yoga, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) combines deep tissue massage with oil and assisted yoga-based stretching elements in a single session. Indian master Kusum Modak, influenced by her practice with BKS Iyengar, developed the AYM method in the early 1980s. This contemporary all-in-one yoga bodywork, supported by breathwork, differs significantly from other traditional massage treatments of Ayurveda, drawing from the numerous benefits of yogasana therapy.
The advanced ARYM courses I-II begin with a brief review of massage and stretching techniques covered in the AYM practitioner training. They then focus on advanced AYM techniques and explore a new series of assisted stretches. These practical workshops offer a detailed study of movements to optimise the quality and efficiency of your practice. Their goal is to improve your ability to provide professional AYM treatments tailored to each client’s specific needs.
Ananta Sylvain Girard, the founder of ARYM, the original AYM Institute, is a prominent figure in Ayurvedic Yoga Massage with over 30 years of experience. Initially collaborating for 7 years with Kusum Modak, the creator of AYM, Ananta has played a pivotal role in spreading AYM globally. He has conducted over 350 therapist courses, certifying over 2,500 AYM practitioners. Ananta’s teaching is precise and comprehensive, founded on two pillars: the original Kusum Modak AYM method and the Anatomy for Movement knowledge passed down by his mentor Blandine Calais-Germain.
